Sustainable Packaging Solutions That Drive Value To Our Customers And The Environment
We’re doing our part in leading environmental stewardship by producing millions of plastic bottles with some of the highest percentages of post-consumer resin (PCR) content seen in the marketplace. Our processes and environmental initiatives demonstrate the value of sustainable practices, which is value you can bring to your customers.
Altium Packaging is at the forefront of our industry in setting new standards for environmentally responsible packaging. This applies to everything from the containers we make to the impact of our handling and logistics.
We were one of the first manufacturers in the world to provide 100% recycled plastic bottles (excluding colorant), and we’re continuing to push the boundaries in PCR usage and lightweight packaging.

Altium Packaging is dedicated to creating sustainable packaging solutions that tackle challenges like plastic waste and resource conservation, as highlighted in our current ESG Report. Lightweighting And Dura-Lite® Technology
In 2016 Altium Packaging commercialized the Dura-Lite® family of bottles using lightweighting technology that decreased the use of plastic by approximately 15% while maintaining the original performance and footprint.
This is only the beginning. We’re expanding our sustainability initiatives across the board. You can expect to hear more from Altium Packaging as we continue to make major innovations and investments like these.

Choosing the right sustainable packaging solution starts with the product and the performance the package needs to deliver. Companies should consider material requirements, manufacturing compatibility, distribution, product protection, recyclability, recycled content, and sustainability goals. Altium can help evaluate options such as lightweighting, recycled-content solutions, and recyclable packaging to develop an approach built around both environmental priorities and long-term package performance.
Post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic is material recovered from plastic products that have already been used by consumers and then processed for use in new products. In packaging, PCR can replace virgin resin in varying amounts depending on the application and performance requirements. Altium offers several PCR solutions, including EcoPrime®, OceanBound Plastic, Prisma, and Deodorized Resin, along with the technical and material expertise to help customers evaluate the right recycled-content approach for their packaging.
Altium combines sustainable packaging options with the design, material, technical, testing, and manufacturing expertise needed to put them into practice. By working collaboratively with customers and considering sustainability alongside product protection, manufacturing requirements, supply chain needs, and long-term performance, Altium can develop solutions tailored to each customer’s goals and backed by its Always Made Right® commitment.
